About Us


Gary Overton has worked in the hospitality industry for over forty-five years. Before starting up his own business on February 17th 1982, he did a four-year apprenticeship with the RACV Club in Queen Street Melbourne. Since then, Gary has worked as second chef at the National Art Gallery of Victoria, executive chef at the Melbourne Cricket Ground and the Hawthorn Football Social Club, a chef at the Wellington Private Hospital and catering manager at Mitcham Private Hospital. Gary has been a sponsor for the Eastern Football League for over twenty five years and also sponsors many other sporting clubs within the league.

Overton Catering is a professionally run catering company, founded by Gary Overton, a qualified chef in 1982.

We are a small, family run business that values our clients and is dedicated to providing fresh, wholesome food.

 

We can cater for any size or style of function.

These can range from elegant cocktail functions, wedding receptions, birthday celebrations, anniversaries, formal dinners, corporate conferences, relaxed BBQs, picnics, funerals to seminars.

 

We offer finger food, carveries, buffets, barbecues and sit down dinners. So whether you need help planning every detail, or just a delicious and flexible menu for your event, our passionate team can assist you in creating the perfect occasion. Gary is versatile in his menu planning and can work with you to meet your individual needs, including any allergies or dietary requirements.

 

We provide full service to all our clients, including waiting staff and management, crockery, cutlery, trestle tables, serviettes, portable ovens and fryers. All our food is prepared in our registered commercial kitchen, transported in our refrigerated vehicle and then freshly cooked at your venue. Our portable ovens run on gas, not electricity, so we can even cook a traditional roast in the bush and it will be fresh!

All the dishes and rubbish are returned to our commercial kitchen because we believe that we must always leave a person’s home or venue the way we found it.
